Global Explorer Fare from Australia

The Global Explorer fare lets you travel up to 39,000 miles around the world, choosing up to 15 stopovers from 600 destinations through the combined resources and route networks of Qantas, British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, Finnair, Gulf Air, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines or Royal Jordanian.


Fares

The fare you pay is based on date of your first flight between regions, class you fly,^ and the total mileage of your journey. Children 2 to 11 years of age may be eligible to travel at 75% of the applicable fare; infants without a seat may be eligible to travel at 10% of the applicable fare.*

Qantas Premium Economy

Premium Economy, a new choice in international travel offering enhanced personal space and comfort, is currently available for travel on selected flights departing Sydney to London, Singapore, Bangkok and Johannesburg.*

Premium Economy will also be available for travel from August 2008 departing Sydney to Hong Kong, and for travel from May 2008 departing Melbourne to London, Singapore and Hong Kong. Premium Economy will be progressively introduced on selected B747-400 services departing Sydney and Melbourne to the US (New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco) from late 2008, and will be available on the Qantas A380, scheduled for delivery from August 2008.*

You may upgrade to Premium Economy on available sectors of your Global Explorer fare. Surcharges apply.

For an additional charge, Global Explorer travel can be booked in British Airways and Japan Airlines premium economy cabin.

Global Explorer regions are defined as:

Tiers

Tier 1 - For journeys of up to 26,000 miles

Tier 2 - For journeys of up to 29,000 miles

Tier 3 - For journeys of up to 34,000 miles*

Tier 4 - For journeys of up to 39,000 miles

* First and Business Class has a maximum permitted mileage of up to 34,000 miles.

Note: Surface sectors are permitted at your own expense, provided such sectors are included in the total mileage calculation. This means if your departure city is different from your arrival city, the mileage between these two cities is included as part of your total mileage. For example, if you fly from Sydney to Los Angeles, take a coach tour from Los Angeles to New York, then fly from New York to London. The mileage between Los Angeles to New York is also included as part of your total mileage. To check the mileage of your planned trip contact your nearest Qantas office.

Example 1 (Tier 1 up to 26,000 miles)

Example 2 (Tier 2 up to 29,000 miles)

Fare Rules

# For travel between the South West Pacific and Europe, Asia may be passed through twice providing one is a transfer (without a stopover).
^^ No stopover permitted in Hong Kong if travel is via Hong Kong to Rome on QF3860/3861.
* A maximum of two stopovers permitted in region of origin.
^ Except if travelling in First or Business class, there is no minimum stay.
+ Travel is not permitted on Cathay Pacific flights between Hong Kong and Hanoi.
